The reasons why a payment problem may arise vary and may differ from bank to bank, as well as related to the settings of the card, the account, the device or even the network you are connected to.
Some of the most common reasons why some users have encountered a problem when paying for an order by card are:
-
Wrong card details.
Make sure you have entered your card details correctly, as well as your card hasn’t expired. If your card details are incorrect, the payment will not be able to complete.
-
Entering the wrong codes during the process of identifying the card details from the bank (3-D Secure).
The verification process may vary depending on the issuing bank and card type, so please read the instructions carefully before proceeding. If the verification code/codes are incorrect, the payment will not be able to complete. In most cases, either the corresponding error message will appear in the bank's window, or the message "The bank did not approve the transaction". For more information on the 3-D Secure process, we recommend contacting your bank.
-
Overloading of the bank's system.
If the 3-D Secure identification data are correct and no error is displayed, there is a high probability that the inability to pay is due to the heavy load on the bank's system at the time you make the transaction. You can wait a few minutes and try again to complete the payment of your order.
-
Insufficient card balance.
If the cost of your order exceeds the available balance of your card, then the payment will not be completed and the message "The bank did not approve the transaction" will appear.
Try using a different browser or connecting to another network or device to complete your order.
-
The card was issued in an unrestricted country.
For purchases through Skroutz, payment by credit or debit card is supported if your card is issued in one of the countries listed in the article "Can I pay with a foreign card?".
-
The computer and/or network you are using has specifications and limitations that preclude the possibility of completing the electronic payment.
These restrictions are probably due to the protection program (firewall/antivirus) of your computer, to settings and restrictions on your network, if it is a corporate one, or to some setting in the browser you are connected to, that prevents the completion of the payment.
Try using a different browser or connecting to another network or device in order to place your order.
