Frequently Asked Questions about Skoop Commission Fees
General Questions
1. What changes on December 1, 2025?
Starting December 1, 2025, a platform fee will be applied to every completed Skoop order. The fee will be whichever of the following two amounts is greater:
€1.00 fixed fee, OR
5.5% of total order value
The fee is charged to the seller only after the order is successfully delivered and the 2-day return window has passed.
2. Why is Skoop introducing this fee now?
Because the platform has evolved significantly—with thousands of active buyers and sellers, new features, and ongoing enhancements. This fee enables us to:
Continuously improve the overall Skoop user experience
Develop new selling tools to help you boost sales volume
Guarantee safe, secure, and reliable transactions backed by Skroutz guarantees
In short, this fee allows us to continue investing in Skoop so you can sell faster to trusted buyers.
3. Does the platform fee apply to buyers as well?
No. The fee applies strictly to sellers for each completed transaction. Buyers incur no additional charges beyond the order price.
4. When exactly is the fee charged?
The fee is applied after the parcel is delivered to the buyer and the 2-day return window expires. At this stage, a Retail Service Receipt (APU) is automatically generated by Skroutz.
5. How will I know how much I was charged?
The exact platform fee amount will be displayed on the order details page and on the automated Retail Service Receipt (APU) issued by Skroutz following completion of the transaction.
6. How will I receive the Retail Service Receipt?
The receipt is generated automatically for each transaction after delivery and the expiration of the 2-day return window. You can download it directly from your Skoop account.
For Sellers
7. Does the fee depend on the item's selling price?
Yes.
If 5.5% of the order value calculates to less than €1.00, you are charged the flat €1.00 minimum fee.
If 5.5% of the order value calculates to more than €1.00, you are charged the percentage rate (5.5%).
Examples:
For a €10.00 sale $\rightarrow$ 5.5% = €0.55 $\rightarrow$ You are charged €1.00
For a €50.00 sale $\rightarrow$ 5.5% = €2.75 $\rightarrow$ You are charged €2.75
8. What happens if the buyer returns the item?
If an order is returned within the 2-day return window, no platform fee is charged. The fee applies strictly following confirmed delivery and completion of the return window.
9. Can I stop selling on Skoop if I disagree with the new fee?
Of course. You can deactivate your listings or your Skoop profile at any time with no commitments or lock-ins. You can also return whenever you like and resume selling using the same account.
10. Does the fee apply to listings created prior to December 1, 2025?
Yes. The fee applies to all orders completed on or after December 1, 2025, regardless of when the listing was original created.
For Buyers
11. Does this change affect me as a buyer?
Not directly. There are no new charges for buyers. However, this change allows us to enhance trust, product visibility, and the overall shopping experience, giving you access to even more verified sellers and smoother transactions.
12. Can I still return an item I purchased?
Yes. The standard 2-day return policy remains exactly the same.
